[Peace News] Short Peace News of the Week and HWPL

[Peace News]

[Peace News] Short Peace News of the Week

Religious News From Around The Web, Jan 27th 2020 / World Religion News / Jan 27th 2020

India's Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) has caused controversy over its exclusion of Muslims for application as national citizens. Therefore, tens of thousands of people of other religions (Hinduism, Christianity, Sikhism etc.) have united to oppose the CAA. Now they are fighting for the religious liberty of all people in India.

In 2017, more than 700,000 Muslim Rohingyas escaped Myanmar during the 'Rohingya Genocide' carried out by the government of Myanmar. Hundreds of villages were destroyed and countless lives lost. The Myanmar government has denied charges of genocide, but the International Court of Justice has ruled that it must prevent further massacre and not destroy evidence.

HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light) and Chairman Man Hee Lee have been carrying out peace initiatives since HWPL's founding in 2013. Their initiatives include urging people throughout the world to support the DPCW (Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War) 10 Articles and 38 Clauses due for introduction to the UN General Assembly as legally-binding international law. The DPCW's laws include peace between countries and religions by spreading a culture of peace and peace education.

It's certain that HWPL and Chairman Man Hee Lee's DPCW will contribute much to eliminating global religious conflicts and wars.

Peace!

[HWPL] Filipino Students Celebrated UN Day with DPCW!

[HWPL]

[HWPL] Filipino Students Celebrated UN Day with DPCW!

On October 25th 2019, 200 students and their families in Bethel Knox School held a Peace Walk event in costumes that represent many cultures and countries. They chanted "Spread the culture of peace", which is the 10th article of the DPCW (Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War).

The DPCW is an international law drafted by HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light. Chairman: Man Hee Lee) which consists of 10 articles and 38 clauses for world peace and the spreading of a culture of peace.

Recently, Bethel Knox school imposed HWPL's Peace Education program, which was established according to the DPCW, to teach the understanding and tolerance towards other cultures, ethnicity and religions so that a culture of peace can be spread to the world.

I'm certain that students who finish Peace Education will become people who achieve a peaceful world with a brighter future.

[HWPL] For the World! For the Future! HWPL's Peace Letter Campaign

[HWPL]

[HWPL] For the World! For the Future! HWPL's Peace Letter Campaign

Since the foundation of HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light. Chairman Man Hee Lee), Chairman Man Hee Lee and HWPL peace advocates have been struggling for world peace and a future of peaceful humanity.

Today HWPL is a peace NGO registered under the United Nations' ECOSOC (Economic and Social Council) and the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs with more than 170 branches and countless affiliates around the world.

In 2016, to carry out a concrete work for world peace, Chairman Man Hee Lee and the HWPL International Law Peace Committee proclaimed the DPCW (Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War) with its 10 Articles 38 Clauses - an international law to achieve sustainable peace.

Moreover, to implement the DPCW through the UN general assembly, HWPL and its peace groups (International Women's Peace Group and International Peace Youth Group) began the "Legislate Peace" Project in 2018 to urge every head of state to support the DPCW and spread Peace Culture throughout the world.

Peace Letter campaign is a part of "Legislate Peace" Project that everyone in the world who loves and desires world peace can participate in to leave a world of peace for future generations. It's not hard or complicated work, but actually very simple, and effective.

To write a letter to your head of state, take a sheet of paper and start writing a letter with a pen (or pencil) about why the DPCW is essential and is the answer for world peace, that you want the DPCW to be implemented for peace in your country and the world, and that you absolutely desire peace for the world for future generations - not war and conflict.

Your letter (and letters from everyone around the world) will show heads of state the support for the DPCW from citizens throughout the world, and also help 'continuous communication and cooperation between civil society and the government with the purpose of the implementation of the international law for peace.'

Eventually it will guide people on the path to world peace and a peaceful humanity on the earth :)

So, why don't you grab a piece of paper and start writing Peace Letter for the world and for yourself? :) One letter can make you a hero who saves the world. Let's start it today :)

[HWPL]

[HWPL] HWPL Signed an MOU for Peace Education with City Montessori School in India

CMS (City Montessori School), established in 1959, is listed in The Guinness Book of World Records as the world's largest city-school.

Chairman Man Hee Lee of HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light) visited CMS to deliver a keynote speech at the 15th International Conference of Chief Justices of the World (ICCJW) in 2014, to urge participants to support the implementation of the DPCW (Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War) for world peace.

Since then, CMS has become a close partner of HWPL's Peace Education and Chairman Man Hee Lee's peace initiatives for world peace, and even hosted the 525 Peace Walk Campaign with 2,000 students and justice officials.

Last March 28th, HWPL and the founder of CMS, Dr. Jagdish Gandhi, signed an MOU for peace education at a signing ceremony for the implementation of HWPL's peace education in his school.

Dr. Jagdish Gandhi said :

"CMS absolutely support HWPL's peace movements and will advocate peace work through all branch schools around India."

HWPL is striving forward for the growth of its peace culture and to raise awareness about world peace in India through the students of CMS.

To date, HWPL has signed MOUs for peace education with 214 institutions in 23 countries and MOAs with 7 institutions in 7 countries to nurture students to achieve world peace through a culture of peace.

[HWPL] The DPCW: the solution to ending all wars - Letter to Prime Minister Theresa May from an HWPL supporter 2

[HWPL]

[HWPL] Why DPCW? - Letter to Prime Minister Theresa May from an HWPL supporter

Dear Rt Hon. Theresa May,

Following on from my last letter, I would like to explain why I believe your support for the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) is so critical to ending all conflicts and creating peace.

Since May 2012, Mr. Manhee Lee, an 89-year-old frontline veteran of the fratricidal and bloody Korean War, has toured the world 31 times meeting heads of state, civil society leaders and the press in 100 countries urging for their support for an end to all wars. He is the chairman of HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light).

Following the initial drafting of the DPCW by HWPL's International Law Peace Committee at the Royal Courts of Justice in Westminster, November 2015, the DPCW was officially proclaimed in Seoul, Republic of Korea, in March 2016. Since then, thousands of leaders in the fields of politics, law, education, religion and journalism have made firm commitments to working for peace by garnering support for the DPCW in their respective countries.

It is clear that existing international law has failed to resolve existing wars or prevent war from breaking out. The rights enshrined within the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UNDHR) and constitutional law have failed men, women and children and young lives continue to be needlessly sacrificed on the battlefield. Who can compensate for a young life robbed of its opportunity to bloom or for the hurt of a mother for her child?

The DPCW was founded to cease wars and establish peace in our world. It comprises 10 articles and 38 clauses that protect core human rights, rectify the loopholes of current international peace law and ultimately seeks to be implemented as a "fair rule of law" for all countries.

Articles 1-5 focus on conflict prevention, articles 6-7 on conflict resolution and articles 8-10 on maintaining a sustainable world of peace. The DPCW has a bottoms-up approach with millions of men, women and children signing in support of its immediate ratification as internationally-binding law. HWPL's ‘Legislate Peace Campaign’ has collected over one million signatures through its ‘Legislate Peace’ campaign propelled along by its two wings, International Peace Youth Group (IPYG) and International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG).

Some of the DPCW’s most ardent supporters include H.E. Gennady Burbulis (former State Secretary of Russia and President of Baltic-Black Sea Forum), H.E. Viktor Yushchenko (former President of Ukraine), H.E. Emil Constantinescu (former President of Romania) and H.E. Mahmoud Abbas (former President of Palestine), to name just a few.

Moreover, the DPCW incorporates articles on religion, which is the cause of so much of today’s conflicts. If religious leaders can come together and find peace with one another, then they can lead believers on the right path. For this purpose, HWPL is uniting leaders of all faiths through its 218 World Alliance of Religions’ Peace (WARP) offices that operate in 126 countries.

In an increasingly divided world marred by conflict, HWPL and its supporters are all striving without rest to achieve peace by submitting hand-written letters to all 193 heads of state calling for the immediate ratification of the DPCW, which will be introduced to the United Nations’ General Assembly for ratification as an internationally-binding law this September 2019. I hope that you will give your full support for this work of peace and also sign your name. The actions of world leaders will be remembered by future generations and this may be the last chance we have.

I leave you with a few quotes below from the DPCW’s most passionate supporters.

Thank you for your time.

Regards,
James

“I believe that actualization of peace within communities is well-reflected in the DPCW. And I am sure that the DPCW needs to be and will be as historical as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.”
H.E. Gennady Burbulis, Former State Secretary of Russia and President of Baltic-Black Sea Forum

“The DPCW is a perfect and balanced document that can be the basis of solidarity for peacekeeping in all countries of the world. I think all the leaders of the countries should support the DPCW”
H.E. Viktor Yushchenko, Former President of Ukraine

“I recognise the value and vision stated in the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War within my purview as a Legal Advisor to President of Sri Lanka. I express the hope that fellow friends of the community would support this peace movement by advocating the Declaration to be incorporated into national laws”
M.R.G. Ranatunga, Attorney at Law Notary Public of Sri Lanka

“I believe that the Declaration of World Peace proclaimed in Seoul can get everyone around the world, no matter if they are men, women, youth or children, ready to unite under the mantle of peace and take the responsibility to promote the message of peace to the entire world.”
H.E. Emil Constantinescu, Former President of Romania

“This work of peace is not a dream but becoming reality. The DPCW will serve as a legacy for future generations to put an end to war and achieve peace in our world. There can neither be a nation without people nor a leader without a nation. National leaders are responsible for listening to what people want - peace.”
Chairman Man Hee Lee of HWPL

Peace!
