Chairman Lee's 10th Peace Tour was held in the United States and Mexico from May 14 to 24, 2014. Through various seminars, conferences, talks, media interviews, and peace agreement ceremonies, Chairman Lee appealed for a united effort to achieve world peace. And in September of the same year, he requested participation in the WARP Summit, an unprecedented peace event held in Seoul, South Korea.

Chairman Lee, who visited New York, USA, attended the Interfaith Peace Conference following the 2014 New York Interfaith Peace Conference on May 15. He said, “Peace is achieved only when there is someone who makes peace. Now, rather than nuclear weapons that kill, a weapon of peace that saves humanity is needed. So I gave the name, ‘Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light', because I have the answer to achieving world peace.”

Everywhere he went, Chairman Lee received attention from media and news outlets. Following the conference, UN Correspondent photojournalist John Oko Nyaku said in an interview with Chairman Lee, “I already knew of Chairman Lee through an African newspaper,” and “I will report on Chairman Lee throughout Nigeria so that everyone can know about him.”

The next day, on May 16th, Chairman Lee attended the Washington International Leaders Peace Seminar held at the Ronald Reagan Building International Trade Center in Washington, D.C., the capital of the United States. He said, “When there is war, who fights? It is the youth. Has anyone ever compensated for the lives lost? We now have to rise up to protect the youth.” After the seminar, the participants signed HWPL's Peace Agreement and promised to unite for a world of peace.

Upon hearing news of Chairman Lee's visit to Washington, D.C., there were people who wanted to meet him. It was because of the news they had heard of the inter-religious Mindanao Civil Peace Agreement led by Chairman Lee. Vietnamese politician Nguyễn Huy Dũng, who met Chairman Lee at the Embassy of Vietnam in Washington, D.C., said, "I will introduce you to the Vietnamese representatives of women's organizations and youth organizations, and I promise to unite with Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light." Elmer Cato, Consul General of the Philippine Consulate General in New York, also met Chairman Lee at the Consulate General of the Philippines and said, "Thank you very much for your peace activities in Mindanao."

On May 18, 2014, Chairman Lee visited a Sikh Gurdwara (Temple) in Washington. The head of the Gurdwara conferred on Chairman Lee a Special Award in recognition of his leadership for peace. Chairman Lee then held a peace agreement ceremony with the Sikh representatives

Afterwards, Chairman Lee visited Calvary Baptist Church in Washington, D.C., whose congregation is entirely of African-American heritage. To the church congregation, Chairman Lee said, “I have told the religious leaders of every country the following: 'If religions become one, there will be an end to wars, the world will become a world of peace, and God will come to the earth and rule over it'. Then they all came together and said, 'Let’s achieve religions unity.'”

Chairman Lee, who visited Mexico for the first time in November 2013 during the 7th Peace Tour, created a sensation by holding a Peace Walk, peace seminar, and a meeting with pastors. In response, the Mexican government and civic groups expressed their gratitude to Chairman Lee, and they earnestly requested that he visit Mexico again. On May 20, Chairman Lee, who accepted this request and visited Mexico for the second time, held an interview with RTV México, the most influential broadcaster in Mexico.

Then Chairman Lee attended a meeting hosted by the Mexico branch of International Women's Peace Group (IWPG) in Veracruz, Mexico. At that meeting, Chairman Lee said, “When young people are sent to war and become victims of war, don't their parents also become victims? We know that peace is important and wars must cease. If we do the work of peace, won't the Creator of Peace help us and make it work?" On that day, domestic civic and women's groups delivered plaques of appreciation to Chairman Lee for his commitment and devotion to peace.

Subsequently, Chairman Lee received a plaque of appreciation for world peace from the Municipal Council of Veracruz, Mexico, and he was appointed as an Honorary Ambassador of the City of Veracruz. Chairman Lee also emphasized the importance of education by meeting with young Mexicans. Chairman Lee visited Christopher Columbus University, which is considered the most influential educational institution in Veracruz, Mexico.

Chairman Lee, who attended the peace seminar with professors and staff, said “I consider education to be very important.” “There are many people who have carried out various peace movements in the world, and there are many people who have received the Nobel Peace Prize,” he said. “However, nothing has yet changed. Then what made me decide to launch such a peace movement? It is because I have a clear answer to achieving peace.”

Also, during a visit to the Instituto Tecnológico de Boca del Río (Technological Institute of Boca del Río), Chairman Lee said, “Too many conflicts are caused by religion. Isn’t religion the highest form of teaching? This is why, in September of this year, I have proposed holding the WARP Summit to achieve unity among religions.”

A Mexican pastor couple, who had been left with a lasting impression after witnessing a bright light shining on Chairman Lee on a plane on his visit to Uruguay during the 9th Peace Tour, invited Chairman Lee to Veracruz.

On May 20, 2014, 28 domestic news media outlets are reporting on Chairman Lee, who received a plaque of appreciation for world peace from the Municipal Council of Veracruz, Mexico

We must come together for peace.” After the conference, appreciation plaques from US political, social, and religious leaders were delivered to Chairman Lee, and about 1,000 leaders across all fields participated in the peace signing ceremony.

  1. This is truly beautiful work. I sincerely hope that the DPCW will be enacted as international law by the United Nations as soon as possible in 2023. Kudos to Chairman Lee of HWPL and all HWPL supporters. In the words of Viktor Yushchenko, former President of Ukraine, “The DPCW is a perfect and balanced document that can be the basis of solidarity for peacekeeping in all countries of the world. I think all the leaders of the countries should support the DPCW."
