[Peace News] Short Peace News of the Week and HWPL

[Peace News] Short Peace News of the Week

Religious News From Around The Web, Jan 27th 2020 / World Religion News / Jan 27th 2020

India's Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) has caused controversy over its exclusion of Muslims for application as national citizens. Therefore, tens of thousands of people of other religions (Hinduism, Christianity, Sikhism etc.) have united to oppose the CAA. Now they are fighting for the religious liberty of all people in India.

In 2017, more than 700,000 Muslim Rohingyas escaped Myanmar during the 'Rohingya Genocide' carried out by the government of Myanmar. Hundreds of villages were destroyed and countless lives lost. The Myanmar government has denied charges of genocide, but the International Court of Justice has ruled that it must prevent further massacre and not destroy evidence.

HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light) and Chairman Man Hee Lee have been carrying out peace initiatives since HWPL's founding in 2013. Their initiatives include urging people throughout the world to support the DPCW (Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War) 10 Articles and 38 Clauses due for introduction to the UN General Assembly as legally-binding international law. The DPCW's laws include peace between countries and religions by spreading a culture of peace and peace education.

It's certain that HWPL and Chairman Man Hee Lee's DPCW will contribute much to eliminating global religious conflicts and wars.

Peace!

[Food] Tteokguk and its recipe (떡국, Rice-cake soup and its recipe)

Every culture in every country has its own tradition to greet the New Year. In particular, East-Asian countries who follow the Lunar Calendar traditionally celebrate New Years at the end of January. Therefore, like China and Japan, Koreans also eat something special on New Years which they call 'Tteokguk (Rice-cake soup)'. 'Tteok' means rice-cake and 'guk' means soup in Korean.

Strong village men gather around a mill to pound steamed rice into cake, and cooked rice cake and rice cake soup for the New Year.

No one knows how long Koreans have been cooking rice cake soup for the New Year. Scholars can only predict it's been more than 2000 years, which is in ancient Korea. Koreans must eat rice cake soup in the morning of the New Year and serve guests who visit their home.

A long time ago, pheasant stock and its meat was used for rice-cake soup, but as time has gone by, pheasant has become so hard to hunt, so pheasant was only used by nobles and the royal family. Everyday citizens usually used chicken and its stock; today beef is easy to buy and gives a better taste so most Korean families use beef stock for rice-cake soup.

Rice-cake recipe is very simple

1. Separate tough and soft beef. Marinate soft beef with soy sauce, sugar and sesame oil. Make beef stock with tough meat.

2. Separate the egg yolk from the white, griddle each of them into flat shapes then chop them into thin strips.

3. Heat the stock, and put sliced rice cakes when it boils.

4. Top the dish with chopped marinated beef and eggs.

Koreans say "You become 1 year older per dish of rice cake soup", because they traditionally eat rice cake soup at New Year. So if you visit Korea during the New Year season, don't eat rice cake soup too much if you don't want to become grandma or grandpa earlier than others (LOL)

[Peace News] Paju City Council Passes 'The Korean Peninsula Peace City Ordinance'

파주시 '한반도 평화수도 조례안' 시의회 통과 / Reporter Daejoon Park / Jan 21st 2020 / Paju, Korea / news1

It was declared in Paju city, Gyeonggi province, South Korea, that the 'Peace City Construction Ordinance of Paju City' was passed by Paju City Council on Jan 21st 2020. The ordinance was passed to legalize strategy and systems for the creation of Paju city as a peace city, and to accelerate the building blocks of peaceful unification of the Korean peninsula and realization of Paju as 'Peace City of the Korean Peninsula'.

The ordinance consists of :

1. Plans for establishment as a peace city and mayoral responsibilities
2. Establishment of Peace City Committee with a system and function
3. Limits to North-South Korean exchange initiatives and foundation of its fund
4. Establishment of Plan for Peace and Unification Education

Therefore, Paju city can now concretely implement a basic foundation to change Paju city into an international Peace City through the ordinance that enables :

1. Respect for the values of freedom, equality, life and cooperation
2. Various North-South Korean exchanges for peace
3. Peaceful utilization of DMZ and boundary area
4. Nurturing peaceful citizens through peace and unification education
5. Cooperation between Korean and international cities that collaborate for world peace

As a member of HWPL Supporters ONE, I wish Paju city becomes a good model with a culture of peace and also to work together with HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light) and its Chairman Man Hee Lee to fulfill a true culture of peace for world peace through the DPCW (Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War) :)

[Food] Tongyeong Oyster & Recipe (통영 굴, Tongyeong Gul)

[Food]

[Food] Tongyeong Oyster & Recipe (통영 굴, Tongyeong Gul)

Oyster is one of the most popular seafoods, and it is no exception in Korea. According to the Encyclopedia of Korean Culture, numerous oyster shells were excavated from many prehistoric sites in Korea, which means that oyster has been eaten in the Korean peninsula since prehistoric times. Oyster is widely sold along the coastline in Korea, except in Gangwon province (North-Eastern region).

Oyster has also been savored in Europe for a long time ago, but I don't think they have more oyster recipes than Koreans do. Today, I introduce you to various Korean oyster recipes :)

Tongyeong: producer of greatest oyster production in Korea where natural and cultured oysters are traded today.
Freshly packaged oysters from Tongyeong. This large bag of oyster costs about $15, and a small bag is about $6~7, which is very cheap compared to other countries.
Likewise, in European countries, Koreans love to eat raw oyster, but not with lemon. Koreans eat raw oyster with sour chili paste or kimchi, steamed pork and Chinese cabbage. You can enjoy the original taste of oyster or add a refreshing taste to steamed pork :)

In addition to eating them raw, oysters are cooked in soup and as cake too. The refreshing, clean and savory taste of oyster is worth your money and time. Koreans visit Tongyeong, a deep southern city in Korea, to taste fresh local oyster and various oyster dishes.

If you are sick of the typical raw oyster taste, how about sampling numerous oyster dishes in Korea? :) It may guide you to a better way of enjoying oyster :)

[HWPL] DPCW of HWPL and Chairman Man Hee Lee and the Libyan Civil War

[HWPL]

[HWPL] DPCW of HWPL and Chairman Man Hee Lee and the Libyan Civil War

Since 2011, Libya has been unable to extricate itself from long-term chaos caused by political, religious and ideological conflict. The country was again turned into a battlefield with the Libyan civil war between the Eastern LNA and Western GNA. After the Arab Spring, Libyans were looking forward to the reign of true democracy but more than 300,000 people died in the ensuing civil war. It's now 2020 and the civil war continues. People's suffering has not yet ended.

Moreover, most people around the world who regularly watch international news know that it created countless Libyan refugees fleeing from their country. It produced more innocent victims - women and children who lost precious family members. Conflict between politics, religion and ideology caused all these troubles and pain.

To solve global conflicts and wars, Chairman Man Hee Lee of HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light) and affiliated peace advocates have been working for world peace through peace initiatives such as the DPCW (Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War) - an international law for peace drafted by HWPL's Peace Law Committee - the 'Legislate Peace' project (Peace Signatures and Peace Letters) and Peace Education since its founding for the spreading of a culture of peace.

Chairman Man Hee Lee of HWPL
The DPCW is an international law drafted by HWPL's Peace Law Committee which consists of prominent law experts and human rights activists. The DPCW consists of 10 articles and 38 clauses that fundamentally removes and prevents the causes of war and conflict. It also contains articles for creating sustainable world peace through Peace Education and a culture of peace. So Chairman Man Hee Lee and HWPL's DPCW is the only answer for world peace.
DPCW. Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War 10 Articles and 38 Clauses

HWPL's Chairman Man Hee Lee and  peace advocates of IWPG (International Women's Peace Group) and IPYG (International Peace Youth Group) have travelled the world more than 30 times to urge all people including former and current presidents, prime ministers, politicians, law experts, religious leaders, leaders of NGO and more to support the DPCW so it can be introduced to the UN's general assembly.

Chairman Man Hee Lee gave speech at UN's assembly room in 2018 on the World's Day

The UN suggested and demanded both parties (LNA and GNA) of the Libyan Civil War to make a truce and cease civil war. As a member of HWPL Supporters One, I think the DPCW must be adopted in Libya in order to solve their conflict. The leaders of the two armies must have dialogue together with Chairman Man Hee Lee at a round table, and talk under the arbitration of Chairman Man Hee Lee to bring peace to Libya and its people. Leaders must be held responsible for what they have caused in their country.

My wish is that HWPL and Chairman Man Hee Lee will ultimately achieve world peace through the DPCW, and create a world of sustainable peace without war.

Peace!
