[HWPL] Peace Tours of Man-Hee Lee (23): People Who Join ‘HWPL Peace Family’, Transcending Border, Creed and Class

On June 3, 2014, Chairman Man-hee Lee visited Alma Mater University of Sibiu in Romania and delivered a lecture on peace to Chancellor Nicolae Georgescu, university staff and students
“Peace does not belong to any one individual. All members of the global village must become messengers of peace and participate in this work of peace.”

Chairman Lee, who visited Romania on June 4, met Sibiu County Prefect Ovidiu-Ioan Sitterli, informed him about the work of peace, and asked him to collaborate on the work of peace.

Sibiu is a city located in the center of Romania, and is an administrative and commercial center. Sibiu County Prefect Sitterli is known to have been instrumental in the creation of the community in Sibiu and conducted various campaigns as a young governor. He was very pleased to meet with Chairman Lee because he has a sincere interest in peace.

Chairman Lee said to him, “I want to do the work of peace because I have a clear answer to achieving peace. When I spoke about peace, they all promised to cooperate as one.” He then emphasized, “This work of peace does not belong to any one individual; it is right that we do it together because it is work that belongs to every member of the global village.”

Regarding this, Sibiu County Prefect Sitterli responded by saying, “As Chairman Lee has said, peace is the common duty of all humanity and is something I hope all countries will come together and cooperate to achieve.”

Chairman Lee's peace tour continued to Turkey. In Turkey, where 99% of the population is Muslim, the head of the Department of Islamic Law of the Istanbul University Faculty of Theology and chairman of Süleymaniye Foundation, Abdülaziz Bayindir, welcomed Chairman Lee, who visited the Süleymaniye Foundation on June 9. Dr. Bayindir held a meeting with the peace envoy, signed a peace agreement, and promised to cooperate with Chairman Lee on his peace movement.

On June 9, 2014, Abdülaziz Bayindir,  the head of the Department of Islamic Law of the Istanbul University Faculty of Theology and chairman of Süleymaniye Foundation, meets with Chairman Man-hee Lee, who visited Süleymaniye Foundation, signed a peace agreement, and took a commemorative photo
Chairman Lee also met the Turkish War Veterans Association (Istanbul Branch). Turkey had dispatched the second highest number of soldiers after the US during the Korean War and suffered the most casualties. In Turkey, Turkish war veterans greeted Chairman Lee with a warm welcome.

Chairman Lee said, “(With reference to Korea today) Thank you. During the Korean War, many people came and worked hard, sacrificing much and helping. I hope that, for the remainder of your lives, all of you will also run for the hope of peace.”

In response, Ahmet Kendigel, Turkey War Veterans Association Istanbul Branch President, said, “Of course, we take Chairman Lee’s entire request on board.”

More than anyone, the veterans of the Korean War in Istanbul, who desire a world of peace, actively supported Chairman Lee's movement and signed the peace agreement. Then, the Turkish War Veterans Association (Istanbul) presented a plaque of appreciation to Chairman Lee for his contribution to peace.

On June 3, 2014, Chairman Lee visited Alma Mater University of Sibiu, Romania, and shook hands with Chancellor Nicolae Georgescu as he entered the university. Then, he showed students an HWPL video introducing the ground-breaking answer to peace, and gave a lecture to help instil the desire for peace.

Chairman Lee said, “I am also someone who has lived through wars and experienced many things. When war breaks out, young people go to the forefront and fight. Who will compensate for the life of that young person, who is born into this world only to have their life cut short and sacrificed because of war? That is why young people must look after one another. Young people should all unite with International Peace Youth Group to achieve peace. This is the solution to ending wars and achieving peace on the earth.” The students responded to the lecture with a spirited round of applause.

He also signed a peace agreement with Chairman Lee and promised to become a part of the HWPL Peace family. Students also joined IPYG and gathered their hearts for the realisation of peace.

Following completion of the day's events, Chancellor Georgescu said, “It is an honor to have such a distinguished guest attend our university. It is a sincere honor to have met you.”

The 11th peace tour also received enthusiastic media coverage. On June 3, 2014, when Chairman Lee arrived at Sibiu International Airport, Romania, the local broadcaster 'Observator News' reported on Chairman Lee's arrival from the airport, "A plane carrying the messenger of peace has arrived at the airport. He is being welcomed and joined by a host of reporters, who are recording this historic moment.”

On June 4, at Hotel Imparatul Romanilor, an interview was held with Romania's public television broadcaster TVR 1. The next day, on the 5th, a live interview was held at the Christian Broadcasting Station RVE București.

During the interview with TVR 1 and RVE, Chairman Lee said, “I have received many letters of appreciation from university deans and mayors from every country. However, it is not the awards I receive that give me greatest joy, but that this world finds peace. We must love peace and love each other.” Moved by Chairman Lee's heart of conviction for world peace, the station staff volunteered to become HWPL members on the spot, filling out the membership application form.

On June 6, Chairman Lee and the Peace Delegation, who were visiting Germany, conducted an interview with RADIO TV Kimpwanza, a broadcasting company catered to French speakers in Africa, at Sofitel Hotel.

In response to the question 'How can peace be achieved?', Chairman Lee said, "Students and young people who want peace, and women and mothers of the global village, must unite and put an end to wars on the earth. Let us all become messengers of peace.”

HWPL Peace Tours of Man-hee Lee (3-3): Local media's 'high interest'...“His name is ‘Light’”

Interview following the Berlin Open Bible seminar

“A groundbreaking Bible seminar.” “It has opened the way for everyone who wants to know the Bible to understand the Bible.” “It is no surprise that people continue to find comfort in his messages.”

As the first Peace Tour of Chairman Man-hee Lee took place before the establishment of Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL), he conducted the tour in his capacity as Chairman of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (Shincheonji). In particular, the Bible seminar he delivered as speaker met critical acclaim in Germany, where Christianity (Catholicism and Protestantism) accounts for more than 60% of the population. Various German media outlets, including the broadcasters RheinMainTV, Leipzig Fernsehen, JeetTV, and the weekly newspaper Der Nordberliner, continued their coverage with requests for interview flooding in.

RheinMainTV, located in the State of Hessen, carried out in-depth coverage of the 'Open Bible Seminar' held for 20 pastors at Frankfurter PresseClub and conducted a subsequent interview with Chairman Lee.

The weekly newspaper Der Nordberliner (May 17, 2012) reports on the Open Bible Seminar of Chairman Man-hee Lee

RheinMainTV introduced the conference as “a groundbreaking Bible seminar” and commended it highly, saying, “This new teaching on the Book of Revelation has opened the way for everyone who wants to know the Bible to understand the Bible.” During an interview with RheinMainTV, Chairman Lee said, “There is only one Bible (in this world), but there are so many interpretations and doctrines. Shincheonji is now testifying to the fact that the Bible has been fulfilled.”

The Berlin Open Bible Seminar hosted by Chairman Lee received further media attention. The German broadcaster Leipzig Fernsehen covered the Berlin seminar, interviewed Chairman Lee and aired it on the news. In particular, it explained the meaning of Chairman Lee's name as 'light' and 'illuminate', shedding light on the role of Chairman Lee as 'the light of the East'.

The program's news anchor said, “Man-hee Lee, a Korean, is not an ordinary Christian. Chairman Lee spoke of his mission being to inform the world that the Book of Revelation has been fulfilled as it is written in the Bible.” He continued, “The name ‘Hee’ means ‘light’ or ‘to illuminate’”. The broadcast concluded with the words, “It is not surprising that many people are looking for answers through their faith.”

Interview with the weekly newspaper Der Nordberliner

These video interviews were broadcast locally on two consecutive days. On the first day, it aired once an hour from 6pm - 11pm, and on the second day, it was broadcast twice more from 8am - 10am and 10pm - 11pm. Following its broadcasting, the popularity of the program grew and the video of the sermon was edited and uploaded on YouTube.

JeetTV, a private online broadcaster, livestreamed the conference worldwide. In addition, the weekly newspaper Der Nordberliner conducted an interview with Chairman Lee and published a special write-up about the conference and Chairman Lee in time for Ascension Day. This newspaper has devoted about half a page to reporting on the contents of Chairman Lee's seminar in depth.

[HWPL] ‘Letter of support for the peaceful reunification of the Korean Peninsula’ from a German politician in Frankfurt

[HWPL] ‘Letter of support for the peaceful reunification of the Korean Peninsula’ from a German politician in Frankfurt

A ‘Letter of support for the peaceful reunification of the Korean Peninsula’ was delivered by Manfred Florian Welker, the former local councillor of the city of Frankfurt, to Chairman Man-hee Lee

In 2018, a climate of peace was created through three inter-Korean summits that took place within the Korean Peninsula. The first inter-Korean summit, held on April 27th, turned the eyes of the world towards the Korean Peninsula. Chairman Lee always prayed for peace in the Korean Peninsula. On May 12th, the following month, a special letter was delivered to Man-hee Lee, Chairman of Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL), who was in Frankfurt, Germany during his 27th peace tour.

At the 'Pan-European Peace Forum for the Peaceful Unification of the Korean Peninsula and Action Plan through DPCW', held at the Leonardo Royal Hotel in Frankfurt, the then Councillor Manfred Florian Welker (Frankfurt Regional Advisory Council) sent a letter of support (Letter of Support for Peaceful Unification of the Korean Peninsula) to Chairman Lee.

Former City Councillor Manfred Florian Welker delivers a letter of support for the peaceful reunification of the Korean Peninsula to Chairman Lee at the Leonardo Royal Hotel in Frankfurt, Germany, on May 12th 2018

In this letter, former councillor Welker said, "I sincerely thank all of you for your work for world peace and the end of war."

He emphasized, “With the firm conviction that world peace can be achieved in this era if everyone becomes a messenger of peace, I am firmly following the exemplary goal of HWPL, a legally binding instrument in the form of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW).”

Regarding the numerous conflicts occurring within the current international community, he said, "The many tragic wars and conflicts in today's society that require urgent and humanitarian solutions are causing the deaths of many innocent people. The causes of these conflicts are deeply rooted. Humanity is hesitant to seek peaceful agreements to prevent these problems, as it is especially difficult to find the best solutions for them. Advances in technology have led to destructive weapons that only increase the risk of innocent deaths over time.”

Regarding the situation on the Korean Peninsula, he said, “Above all, given the current situation, it is not an exaggeration to say that the Korean Peninsula is in one of the most dangerous situations in the world. It is leading people to a life of fear.”

Referring to HWPL's DPCW, Welker evaluated that "(DPCW) will be sufficient to solve these problems." In addition, he wrote in his letter, “I strongly support the peaceful unification of the Korean Peninsula because it acknowledges the absurdity of the existence of a divided country on the earth as a result of the outdated times caused by the Cold War in the 1960s.”

Before delivering his letter of support, former councillor Welker and Chairman Lee had a conversation the day before, on the 11th, at the Sofitel Hotel in Frankfurt, Germany.

During the interview, former councillor Welker said, "My interest in peace has grown through HWPL.'' He also suggested a plan for a future peace project to Chairman Lee, saying that he hopes to achieve it together with HWPL. This plan also includes the installation of a peace monument to commemorate HWPL's peace activities. To this, Chairman Lee replied, “I think I have met a noble person,” and, “I feel like Heaven has sent someone to comfort and help this person after knowing that he is having a difficult time.”

At that time, HWPL was on their 27th peace tour and, for the first time, the peace delegation presented their peace book ‘The True Story of HWPL’, compiled and produced by the peace movement, detailing all their peace activities to date. Former councillor Welker, who attended HWPL's 5.25 World Peace Walk in Frankfurt on May 25th 2016, was the first recipient of the peace story book. Welker was fascinated by Chairman Lee's practical peace activities and decided to actively support HWPL's activities.

Former councillor Welker was the first person to be gifted 'The True Story of HWPL' peace book.

Welker, who was a local councillor at the time, expressed great interest in the peace activities in Frankfurt, attending every event to deliver a speech, including at the WARP Office meeting.

In addition, following HWPL's peace tour, former local councillor Welker attended the 4th annual commemoration of the WARP Summit in Korea in September 2018. He found a site in the Frankfurt area to install the Peace Monument and recommended a school to become a peace academy that teaches HWPL peace education. He also liaised with the German National Library in Frankfurt to have the peace book, containing the fruits of HWPL's peace movement, on display.

Meanwhile, HWPL visited five European countries including Ukraine, Germany, Sweden, Norway and Romania during their 27th peace tour (May 8-23rd 2018) to gather support for the peaceful reunification of the Korean Peninsula.

During this tour, HWPL met local government officials, women and youth group leaders, and religious leaders to hold peace forums, sign MOUs, and other meetings for the development of peace within each respective country. In particular, a Peace Forum hosted in five European countries was held under the theme of the peaceful reunification of the Korean Peninsula. The forum served as a platform to discuss and implement the global community's joint efforts on the Korean Peninsula issue, which itself is directly related to the stability and peace of the international community.

[IPYG] IPYG Germany Gives Hope to Children with Cancer through Volunteer Activity - Short News

In March 2021, the German branch of IPYG (International Peace Youth Group) did volunteer work for 25 children and their guardians to commemorate HWPL's (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light; Chairman Man-Hee Lee) 5th Annual Commemoration of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW). It also formed part of implementing the 10th Article of the DPCW, which is spreading a culture of peace.

Children with cancer in Germany lost their chance to meet others, play outdoors and in places to learn after COVID-19. Given this situation, a German child cancer volunteer group wanted to host volunteer activities for them. So IPYG contacted the child cancer volunteer group and hosted 3 volunteer activities in March.

IPYG volunteers made bracelets, dreamcatcher and cards to celebrate Easter with children and their guardians, spreading some joy to them.

It seems like IPYG (including HWPL and IWPG) won't stop spreading a culture of peace despite COVID-19. They will go through any hardship to shine the light of peace to the world :)
