What would be the best gift for a child or for people of any country? Wouldn't it be a peaceful country without conflict or war that anyone can live in to fulfil their dreams and hopes? HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light; Chairman Man Hee Lee) has already been carrying out peace initiatives for people all over the world. One of their peace initiatives is Peace Education, which teaches children and students to become understanding, tolerant and respectful in building a loving and peaceful world. HWPL has also been providing peace education curricula to help teachers educate students about peace.

Burundi is a country in the East Africa region where people had to go through a painful and tragic civil war. Burundians have always desired peace, and HWPL is helping Burundi make their wish come true through Peace Education.

The 1st Burundi Peace Education Seminar was hosted at Rehoboth School in Bujumbura, Burundi. 22 participants (mostly principals and teachers) from Rehoboth School, Le Dauphin, Lycée communal of Cashi and Ecole Oasis des Anges joined in the event under the title "Discounting the Pilot Training for the Peaceful Education of Burundi in 2019 and Sharing the plan for 2020", which shared three visions (The Sanctity of life,’‘Loyalty and Filial Piety’ and ‘Co-existence and sustainability’), an HWPL peace education performance and results of HWPL Burundi’s pilot peace education in 2019.

Since the 5th anniversary of the HWPL World Peace Summit in Burundi on the 7th of September last year, MOUs between 4 schools and HWPL followed. As a result, five peace educations were conducted for 250 students 40 times.

All participants satisfied with HWPL's Peace Education program wanted to expand it to more schools and students. HWPL and their peace educators in Burundi are now hoping to implement Peace Education program at 10 schools in 2020.

[HWPL] The Best Way to Religious Peace - WARP Office Meeting Interfaith Dialogue

WARP (World Alliance of Religions' Peace) Office Interfaith Dialogue is one of the main initiatives of the global peace group HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light; Chairman Man Hee Lee).

It was established in 2014 to find proper religious values for peace-building through dialogue of religious scriptures. HWPL invites prominent religious leaders to meetings to discuss religious topics for better mutual understanding and to share thoughts about achieving world peace.

Religion is used as the main cause of today's global conflicts and wars. Many religious leaders are critical of many people who interpret the scripture to suit their own thoughts and ideologies irrespective of the true meaning of their scripture and will of God. They warn that this is what leads to religious extremism that causes global terrorism, violence, conflicts and war.

Mr. Tharwat Gaid Salama Gaballa, Chairman of Horus Foundation for Development and Training in Egypt said :
"....religion does call for peace among peoples. The seed of peace is possible with this desire and with this longing to change the world.....The common objectives that all religious scriptures pursue are the realization of peace and justice, conflict resolution, human dignity, and valuing diversity."

Then what should religious and NGO leaders do together with HWPL and its WARP Office Interfaith Dialogue? NGOs have to carry out campaigns that remove and discourage extremism and religiously and racially-motivated discrimination. Scholars and religious leaders must spread true religious knowledge to lead people to world peace.

Swami Veetamohananda, Swami (religious Hindu leader) of Ramakrishna Veda center said :
"In order to find the truth all the humanity wants religious leaders need to put away the thoughts that only my religion is the best and do the comparative work based on Scripture without dividing themselves and saying 'your religion', 'my religion.'"

HWPL's WARP Office Meeting has been hosted in 220 locations across 130 countries. Chairman Man Hee Lee of HWPL said :
"The culture of the earth cannot be compared with that of heaven according to man’s yardstick of judgment. Religion is about learning the things of the spirit and the teachings of God. This is heavenly culture that can guide us to a world of peace. Through the WARP offices, religious leaders bring their scriptures to examine and find the most trustworthy evidence. Religions must unite under one true teaching and scripture. When we continue to carry out these comparisons, there will be no more wars triggered by religion."

Getting rid of prejudice, stubbornness, misconceptions, misinterpretations and pride through an understanding and discussion of true religious knowledge is the way to religious peace and world peace. For this purpose, HWPL's WARP Office Meeting develops and expands networks and channels of communication between global religious leaders.

Dr. Ahmed Jasem Hmood Al-Maliky, Sheikh of Office of the Religious Reference Sheikh Mohammad Al Yaqoobi in Iraq said :
"Starting by taking out the prejudice that I am right and you are wrong, let us communicate and interact with each other with these questions in mind: ‘Is what I know always right? Is the other religion always wrong? Or is there something in that religion that mine doesn't have?’ Let us find the best truth and achieve the ultimate value of peace"

[Peace News] Paju City Council Passes 'The Korean Peninsula Peace City Ordinance'

파주시 '한반도 평화수도 조례안' 시의회 통과 / Reporter Daejoon Park / Jan 21st 2020 / Paju, Korea / news1

It was declared in Paju city, Gyeonggi province, South Korea, that the 'Peace City Construction Ordinance of Paju City' was passed by Paju City Council on Jan 21st 2020. The ordinance was passed to legalize strategy and systems for the creation of Paju city as a peace city, and to accelerate the building blocks of peaceful unification of the Korean peninsula and realization of Paju as 'Peace City of the Korean Peninsula'.

The ordinance consists of :

1. Plans for establishment as a peace city and mayoral responsibilities
2. Establishment of Peace City Committee with a system and function
3. Limits to North-South Korean exchange initiatives and foundation of its fund
4. Establishment of Plan for Peace and Unification Education

Therefore, Paju city can now concretely implement a basic foundation to change Paju city into an international Peace City through the ordinance that enables :

1. Respect for the values of freedom, equality, life and cooperation
2. Various North-South Korean exchanges for peace
3. Peaceful utilization of DMZ and boundary area
4. Nurturing peaceful citizens through peace and unification education
5. Cooperation between Korean and international cities that collaborate for world peace

As a member of HWPL Supporters ONE, I wish Paju city becomes a good model with a culture of peace and also to work together with HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light) and its Chairman Man Hee Lee to fulfill a true culture of peace for world peace through the DPCW (Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War) :)

HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light. Chairman Man Hee Lee) and Chairman Man Hee Lee have been carrying out Peace Education as part of the Legislate Peace Project that urges people throughout the world to support the DPCW (Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War) for sustainable peace.

Chairman Man Hee Lee and HWPL's peace work has also been carried out throughout the Korean peninsula. HWPL's Daegu-Gyeongbuk branch hosted a Special Lecture on world peace with Daesung Passion Academy at Suseong District in Daegu on December 26th under the title 'The Most Precious Peace Story in the World' with 50 local citizens.

Lecturer Mr. Daesung Lee introduced the DPCW's 10 Articles and 38 Clauses drafted by HWPL's Chairman Man Hee Lee and its Peace Law Committee, and he talked about the necessity of peace education to spread a culture of peace. Mr.Lee emphasized 'Acquiring world peace through communities over individuals'. The lecture ended with a discussion on methods for raising awareness of peace.

HWPL and Chairman Man Hee Lee have been carrying out peace campaigns, including Peace Education, since HWPL's Peace School MOU in 2015. HWPL and Chairman Man Hee Lee signed MOUs with 214 schools (and universities) in 26 countries, and also signed an MOU with the Education Ministries in Sri Lanka, Colombia, Iraq, Philippines and more.

A hopeful, New Year 2020 has come.

With all sincerity, I wish all family of peace a Happy New Year filled with hopes and blessings.

Over the past year, we have accomplished together more than any other year for the realisation of peace and harmony.

These outcomes would not have been possible without your dedication and hard work for the global community and future generations despite the difficult circumstances.

Once again, I humbly thank everyone for working together.

Doubled efforts

HWPL will do its utmost to make 2020 a year of great leaps toward peace.

The ten articles and 38 clauses of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW), a solution for peace, are awaiting submission to the UN General Assembly, to realise a peaceful world without war through international law, please become a messenger of peace, transcending nationality, ideology, and religion.

Please introduce the DPCW and urge support for it. With its family of peace, HWPL is creating an eternal legacy of peace and cessation of war for generations to come.

The year 2020 will be a year that goes down in history.

Our wishes and efforts for the global community and future generations will become a great light that shines on the whole world.

Forward as a family

The waves of peace will cover the world, and the culture of peace that we have planted will blossom and yield great fruits.

At the news of such peace, all creation and even the nature will rejoice and dance.

HWPL’s peace messengers and I myself will run at the forefront.

I ask for your support and cooperation in the work of peace. With one heart and one mind, let us make 2020 a year of taking a quantum leap toward peace. We are one!

HWPL (Heavenly Culture World Peace Restoration of Light. Chairman Man Hee Lee)has been carrying out Peace Education to spread the culture of peace through out the world as one of its peace initiatives. Peace Education's peace curriculum teaches students to understand and love others with different culture, religion, race, ideology, nationality etc. Students and young children who learned Peace Education will be people who spread the culture of peace to their family, community and the world. To teach the curriculum at schools and universities, the world needs many people with who can teach it to students :)

On December 11th "1st Peace Educatior Workshop for the Kenya National Commission for UNESCO (KNATCOM) in 2019" was hosted in Kenya Education Management Institute by KNATCOM HWPL. It was organized by HWPL who is affiliated with the UN ECOSOC. HWPL official homepage announced that 34 people including principal education officer of the Ministry of Education, deputy director of programme of KNATCOM and educators from UNESCO associated schools.

The workshop provided the educators to experience and practice Peace Education through presentation, materials and pilot class.

Ms. Dorah Kitala, principal education officer of Ministry of Education said :
"Peace education textbooks and the curricula are innovative. After the demonstration, I could feel that peace education is necessary for Kenya and would work with HWPL in the future."

Let's hope more and more students in Kenya to be another peace advocates by Peace Education curriculum of those peace educators for the world peace :)
