Man-hee Lee, Chairman of Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL), and his peace delegation have been promoting the enactment of an international peace law for the cessation of war in the global community, and overseas organizations that participated in the WARP Office Dialogue of Scriptures have expressed their gratitude to Chairman Lee’s peace movement. In particular, a private Egyptian broadcaster has reported HWPL's global peace activity for the goal of enacting an international law to end all wars a total of 119 times, and delivered a plaque of appreciation - with a message from the President of Egypt - to Chairman Lee. In India, Interfaith Coalition for Peace delivered a certificate of appreciation to Chairman Lee, with a message declaring its support for the movement of religious unity.

On September 18th 2015, Kamal Khalifa Abdelrahman Mahmoud, Chairman of Alsalamnews, an Egyptian media outlet, presented a plaque of appreciation to Chairman Man-hee Lee at a ceremony that marked the first anniversary of the WARP Summit.

The plaque of appreciation, composed in Arabic, was engraved with the words, "We express our gratitude to those who have sworn to God to preserve and protect their homeland, along with the greetings of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi."

There was a reason why Mr. Mahmoud delivered a plaque of appreciation with the President's greetings to Chairman Lee. He was a first-hand witness of the progress to enact an international law for the cessation of war and global peace, which was first promised to the world at HWPL's WARP Summit on September 18th 2014. He attended the WARP Summit in 2014, as well as the 1st, 2nd and 3rd annual commemorations from 2015 to 2017. After delivering the plaque of appreciation, he joined hands for this movement for peace, doing whatever he could.

The ceremony of the first annual commemoration of the WARP Summit in 2015 was particularly meaningful to Mr. Mahmoud, who was joined in attendance by fellow Egyptians and law scholars who were also visiting Korea and attended the HWPL International Law Peace Committee Meeting for the cessation of war. Prof. Dr. Mohamed Said El-Dakkak, President of the International Law Association, and Ahmed Mohamed Rifaat, Professor of International Law (former president of Beni-Suef University) both attended the event and shared their expertise on the enactment of this draft law for the cessation of wars in the global village.

On March 14th 2016 the following year, an international law drafted by 21 leading global law scholars - including the aforementioned persons - was proclaimed in the form of a Preamble as “The 10 Articles and 38 Clauses of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW).” Mr. Mahmoud attended the official event on that day, and has become a living witness to it.

Through regular communication with HWPL, Mr. Mahmoud reported HWPL's peace activity a total of 119 times. He also established an HWPL office in Cairo, Egypt, and was appointed an HWPL Peace Ambassador.

On December 11th 2014, during HWPL's 16th Peace Tour, a 'miniature WARP Summit' was held at Mata Sundri College for Women (University of Delhi), India. Guests from India who were visibly touched by the WARP Summit held prior on September 18th 2014 in Korea voluntarily gathered religious leaders and followers from among their own circles and recreated a miniature WARP Summit. On that day, 11 religious leaders held a “discussion for the interpretation of the scriptures on peace.” Interfaith Coalition for Peace, a local interfaith peace organization that participated in the event, held a peace conference where they presented a letter of appreciation to Chairman Lee, a global spiritual leader and messenger of peace.

Dr. Syed Zafar Mahmood, President of Interfaith Coalition for Peace, acknowledged HWPL's peace movement and expressed his gratitude for their global peace tours as ‘messengers of peace.’

In the letter of appreciation, the organization acknowledged the progress made by Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) and HWPL Chairman Lee, who has devoted his life as a global messenger of peace to resolve religious conflicts on all continents, to strengthen the capacity of women and youth, and to demand responsible and objective media reporting. The Certificate reads, “We, at Interfaith Coalition for Peace in India do hereby warmly greet Mr. Man Hee Lee as the Advocate of Peace and we feel happy to present this Plaque to him.”

Dr. Mahmood, Founder and President of Interfaith Coalition for Peace, has been particularly active among religious circles in India. He was one of the representatives of Indian Muslims at an interfaith meeting held during the visit to India by former US President George W. Bush in 2006. He also met HH Dalai Lama at the 'Inter-Faith Conclave' in New Delhi. Dr. Mahmood served as 'Officer on Special Duty' for the then Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, and is also Founder and Chairman of Zakat Foundation of India and God's Grace Foundation.

Interfaith Coalition for Peace is an organization that urges people of all religions and beliefs to work together to achieve religious tolerance, mutual respect and peace. It promotes the importance of raising human dignity and enables people to achieve the full realization of their rights as human beings. It actively conveys a message to Indian society that all governments, political forces, and non-governmental organizations should work hand in hand with various religious organizations to build trust and understanding.

Meanwhile, HWPL's 16th peace tour in India bore fruit in other ways than just through the miniature WARP Summit. At the 15th International Conference of Chief Justices of the World (ICCJW) at City Montessori School, to which Chairman Lee was invited as keynote speaker, all 160 participating Supreme Court justices from 43 countries signed the International Law Enactment Convention for the Cessation of War and World Peace, and they were appointed as advisors to the HWPL International Law Peace Committee. Following the signing ceremony, City Montessori School held a Peace Walk for World Peace and Cessation of War with the participation of about 2,000 students and justices.

  1. The Chairman of HWPL, Man-hee Lee, is a Korean War veteran who has travelled the world 31 times meeting politicians, Heads of State, religious leaders and international law experts to discuss the DPCW and gain the support of citizens around the world. 21 international law experts were involved in the drafting of the DPCW. HWPL currently has support in 192 different countries with over 600,000 members working to help establish peace throughout the world. It is a miracle that a 91-year-old man can spearhead such a peace movement. Kudos to Chairman Lee.
