Since the beginning of the world, humanity has not stopped engaging in conflict and war in our small planet. They have fought over territories, resources, honor, power, money, treasure, people, ideologies and religion.

Whatever the reason, violence and force has given birth to more wars and conflicts in history. Although some people may insist that technologies and skills used in war have contributed to the development of humanity, the truth is that humanity has suffered atrocities, cruelty and deaths of loved ones, one after the other.

I want to ask people who argue that war is necessary:

"Who is war for? Especially when it kills your loved ones and destroys their future?"

Europe has been the battlefield for many countries and leaders who wanted power and religious authority. Now it has become a place with conflicts and terrorism resulting from conflict between Muslim and Christian cultures.

People mourned for the victims of the Attack in Paris, 2015

How about South-East Asia? Religious war and conflicts have murdered numerous people since the 20th century in the so-called name of 'God', and border conflicts between many countries still continue.

Border conflicts between India, Pakistan and China

It's not very surprising to hear of gunfire accidents, homicides and massacres in the Americas (North, Middle and South) committed by citizens, gangs, cartels and rebels.

Meanwhile, Africans have been waging tribal wars against each other for power and territory. Still, sadly, tribal wars have not disappeared and it looks like they won't end until they get rid of everyone in the African continent.

Finally, the Korean peninsula - the only divided country which was once a country - is divided by ideologies and foreign powers who wanted to paint the land with their own 'color'. The Korean War massacred countless Koreans and foreign soldiers have left an incurable scar on Korean history.

Then, I want to ask why we have to confront and fight one another? What is this war and conflict for? I want to ask you again:

"Who is the war for? When it kills your loved ones and the future?"

"Who is war for? Especially when it kills your loved ones and destroys their future?"

Don't you dare think 'It is not my problem' and 'There is no such war or conflict in my region (e.g. Oceania)', because both small and large-scale conflicts always happen around us. These conflicts begin small before they gradually turn into huge ones. People fight because they don't know how to resolve them in a peaceful way. They didn't learn it in school because no one ever taught it systematically in world history. There has been no law for international conflicts and war (Yes, there were some declarations made by the U.N. to decrease war and conflicts but they are still here in our planet).

Chairman Man Hee Lee of HWPL (Heavenly Culture World Peace Restoration of Light)
So, that is why Mr. Man Hee Lee of HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light) initiated the peace advocate and DPCW (Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War) concept. You may ask 'Who is he? And what is the DPCW?'

HWPL, along with its sub-organizations (IWPG: International Women's Peace Group, IPYG: International Peace Youth Group), all work together for world peace to protect humanity from war and extinction
Mr. Man Hee Lee, an 89-year-old Korean War veteran who had experienced the severity and cruelty of war, founded HWPL and its sub-groups for the purpose of making world peace. HWPL and its chairman Man Hee Lee have been successfully carrying out their ‘Legislate Peace’ campaign globally to enact the new international law DPCW (Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War), which is the only answer for world peace.
DPCW is consisted of 10 articles and 38 clauses that made by prominent global international law experts and human rights activists with Mr. Man Hee Lee. DPCW's articles are very effective and practical, some of them are :

Article 1 - Prohibition of threat or use of force

Article 2- Reduce war potential and re-purpose weapons to benefit humanity

Article 6 - Settle international disputes through peaceful means

Article 9 - Promote peaceful coexistence amongst religious and ethnic groups

Article 10 - Spread a culture of peace

Chairman Man Hee Lee, the peace advocates, political leaders, law experts, peace and human rights activists, leaders of NGOs and citizens who love world peace and eagerly desire world peace are all working hard and supporting the DPCW for enactment at the UN to be signed as a legally-binding international law.

To enact the DPCW across the world and to achieve world peace, we need the support and signatures from leaders of every world state. So Chairman Man Hee Lee has been hosting and meeting many people. Why? To spread and inform them about the DPCW. What is the result? So many countries and groups still want to sign MOUs with HWPL and some countries have already officially declared their support towards the DPCW.

The 2nd anniversary of DPCW peace conference

Now Chairman Man Hee Lee and DPCW will host 'the 3rd Annual Commemoration of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War - Civil Society's Role for Peaceful Unification of the Korean Peninsula' on the 14th March.

HWPL and its participants will give speeches about why we need the DPCW and its impact in the world, and how they can implement the DPCW through the UN with support from world leaders.

If you want world peace for the benefit of humanity, and want to contribute - even in a small way - Come! Watch the 3rd Annual Commemoration of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War and become a peace advocate! You can be a global hero too!
