[HWPL] What is HWPL?

[HWPL]

[HWPL] What is HWPL?

HWPL's Chairman Man-Hee Lee

Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL; Chairman Man-hee Lee) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) registered in the UN Economic and Social Council and Public Affairs Bureau.

The name “Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light” means that the global community is transformed into a world of peace through the culture of heaven. The purpose of its establishment is to end all global conflict, achieve peace, and convey a world of peace to future generations.

Man-hee Lee (90), the founder of HWPL, is a Korean War veteran. As solutions for peace, he has advocated for “enactment of an international law to end war, and pass on the world to future generations” and 'harmony through interfaith dialogue' and 'Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War'. To this end, he has visited over 100 countries on 31 peace tours over 7 years since 2012, attracting the participation of the international community.

HWPL's activities are largely ▲enactment of an International Law (DPCW) for the establishment of peace standards in the international community ▲Comparative research and discussion of scriptures as communication for peace between religions ▲Peace education for citizens, students and future generations

The springboard for the enactment of international law was the 2014 HWPL World Peace Summit. At that time, about 2,000 political, religious, women and youth leaders from 170 countries and 200,000 members participated. People from all over the world signed a peace treaty that contained the contents of the “enactment of international law to end war” and support of “world alliance of religions” proposed by Chairman Lee. On March 14, 2016, the 10 articles and 38 clauses of the “Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW)" was proclaimed. In July 2017, PARLACEN (Central American Parliament) adopted a resolution in support of the DPCW.

Currently, there are 253 WARP (World Alliance of Religions' Peace) offices for religious unification in 129 countries.

Peace Education has been developed and translated into textbooks, and in the first half of 2018, school officials in Georgia (February), Indonesia (May) and Israel (June) held the “2018 Peace Education Korea Training Program”.

HWPL's activities are carried out with its subsidiary, International  Peace Youth Group (IPYG), and International Women's Peace Group (IWPG) as its partner organization. IWPG was founded in September 2013, has 100 branches and, together with its 400 partner organizations worldwide, is promoting three major projects: the support and advocacy for the enactment of an international law for peace, women's peace education, and 'plant peace'. Every September, female leaders from around the world gather to discuss practical ways to achieve peace.

IPYG is a youth network that is leading the peace movement by uniting the youth from each country's civil society. It has 54,000 members from 70 branches in Korea and works with 851 organizations from 111 countries.

[HWPL] Nations of Korean War and HWPL. Serial Posting 1. United States of America

[HWPL]

[HWPL] Nations of Korean War and HWPL. Serial Posting 1. United States of America

Year 2020 is the 70th anniversary of the Korean War which scarred the whole Korean peninsula in the 20th century. Two ideologies (democracy and communism) clashed on a small peninsula as 21 countries fought for the ideologies they followed and more than 50 countries helping one side with medical or financial support. All people struggled for the peace that they believed in, resulting in more than one million casualties. Today, Chairman Man Hee Lee and his peace groups (HWPL, IWPG and IPYG) are working together with people throughout the world for sustainable world peace. I begin these serial postings recalling the Korean War, paying respect to all those who fought and sacrificed their lives in the Korean War, and inform you how Mr. Man Hee Lee and his peace groups (HWPL, IWPG and IPYG) have been working for world peace and for future generations :)

Every week, I will write about one country that participated in the Korean War and how the country has been working together with Chairman Man Hee Lee and these peace groups for world peace :)

Today's country is the United States of America.

The United States of America dispatched 480,000 including General Douglas MacArthur, but suffered almost 20,000 casualties, including those missing and POWs. The USA is the first country to send reinforcements (Task Force Smith) and support South Korea after the war, both financially and medically. They comprised the majority of the United Nations Army in the Korean War.

Honorable Veterans of Korean War from the United States of America

Chairman Man Hee Lee of HWPL, who is also a veteran of the Korean War, underwent all kinds of cruelty and hardship in the Korean War and has been working for world peace since 2012. Contributing towards the efforts of Chairman Lee and HWPL, people in the United States of America have responded with great participation to HWPL's initiatives and events. Citizens of Los Angeles, New York, Washington D.C. and more cities joined in the annual May 25th Peace Walk, The WARP (World Alliance of Religions and Peace) Office, the Legislate Peace campaign, 918 World Peace WARP (World Alliance of Religions' Peace) Summit. Moreover, some members of HWPL's International Law Peace Committee (which helped Chairman Man Hee Lee to draft and implement the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War) come from the United States. Manhattan, Carson City and other cities in the United States of America even officially designated March 14th 'HWPL Day' to commemorate HWPL's Peace Work.

I'm certain and hopeful that people in the United States of America will keep working with Chairman Man Hee Lee and HWPL for world peace and a brighter future for future generations as they have done so far :)

[HWPL] Filipino Students Celebrated UN Day with DPCW!

[HWPL]

[HWPL] Filipino Students Celebrated UN Day with DPCW!

On October 25th 2019, 200 students and their families in Bethel Knox School held a Peace Walk event in costumes that represent many cultures and countries. They chanted "Spread the culture of peace", which is the 10th article of the DPCW (Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War).

The DPCW is an international law drafted by HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light. Chairman: Man Hee Lee) which consists of 10 articles and 38 clauses for world peace and the spreading of a culture of peace.

Recently, Bethel Knox school imposed HWPL's Peace Education program, which was established according to the DPCW, to teach the understanding and tolerance towards other cultures, ethnicity and religions so that a culture of peace can be spread to the world.

I'm certain that students who finish Peace Education will become people who achieve a peaceful world with a brighter future.

[Peace news] Youth's Message to the UN "We care about peace"....How about joining IPYG?

[Peace news]

[Peace news] Youth's Message to the UN "We care about peace"....How about joining IPYG?

UN news reported that Security Council meeting Maintenance of international peace and security was hosted on July 17th 2019. Ms. Jayathma Wickramanayake, the Secretary-General's Envoy on Youth, made a few clear points about youth during her speech regarding peace and security.

And, I'd like to emphasize a few main points from her speech.

1. Young people suffer from many things (stereotypes, myths and policies etc.) which harm and hinder their ability to work for peace.

2. Young people are easily framed as "a problem to be solved and a threat to be contained" while they are not actually not involved in violence.

3. Young peacebuilders and human rights advocates are vulnerable to threats, intimidation, violence, arbitrary arrest and retaliation by the State and non-State.

From what I have seen and heard from fellow peace activists and supporters throughout the world, the above 3 points are very true for young people. In this world, youth have to fight ideological, conventional and political problems that lie in their society. Some of them are easily exploited by violent extremists and terrorists for conflicts and wars.

Meanwhile, even though they may desperately want to start and join peace campaigns, doing so is usually restricted to people with political, financial and educational advantage.

Therefore, I want to introduce HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light. Chairman: Mr. Man Hee Lee) and IPYG (International Peace Youth Group) to the world's youth.

Mr. Man Hee Lee's peace organizations have been running a Peace Walk campaign, 'Legislate Peace' campaign and Peace Letter campaign for the enactment of an international law DPCW (Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War), which is the perfect answer for world peace.

It is not hard to work jointly with IPYG. Youth can visit their official homepage or write hand-written peace letters to their state leader urging them to support the DPCW for world peace. Moreover, they can walk with the peace group together for world peace.

So, what would you do? If you really want world peace, become a peace advocate with HWPL and IPYG :) Let's work for peace so that we can achieve peace :)

Peace!

[IPYG] Peace Walk and Letter across the World

[IPYG]

[IPYG] Peace Walk and Letter across the World

The world has been suffering from war and conflict since the beginning, and it continues. HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light, Chairperson: Mr. Man Hee Lee), IWPG (International Women's Peace Group) and IPYG (International Peace Youth Group) has been carrying out their main initiatives for world peace such as the Peace Walk campaign since 2013.

Today I bring you pictures from global Peace Walk Festivals :) Let's check them out.

Peace advocates of HWPL and IPYG held the 6th Annual Commemoration of the Declaration of World Peace and the Peace Walk Festival on May 26th at Gangaramaya Temple, Sri Lanka. Given that tragic Sri Lanka Easter bombings happened because of religious and ethnic problems, this Peace Walk Festival was very significant.

100s of youth from IPYG held the 6th Annual Commemoration of the Declaration of World Peace and the Peace Walk Festival in Delhi Public Library in New Delhi, India. Participants wrote peace letters to Ram Nath Kovind, the president of India.

IPYG, Çanakkale Bicycle Platform and Çanakkale Koza Youth Association co-hosted 'Cycle for Peace' to promote the importance of peace.

IPYG members in Gabon hosted the 6th Annual Commemoration of the Declaration of World Peace and the Peace Walk with youth and students. Lebissa Eliol Trancy, the director of Jaeunesse D'abord GABON, participated in the event. He encouraged the work of peace-building together with IPYG.

IPYG members in Mali hosted the 6th Annual Commemoration of the Declaration of World Peace and the Peace Walk at Ecole Fondamentale Lafia De Kalaban-Koro in Bamako, Mali. IPYG Mali branch reported that VIPs from various sectors and 300 youth participated in the event. Given that the Malian civil war broke out a few months ago, the event showed their desperate will for peace.

IPYG hosted the 6th Annual Commemoration of the Declaration of World Peace and the Peace Walk with 100 students including Isiam Imeri, President of Student Parliament of Tetova University at Tetova University in Tetova, North Macedonia.

Peace!
