Cities in the United States are moving towards a world of peace by participating in the peace work of Man-hee Lee, Chairman of Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL). Chairman Lee's 16th Peace Tour was conducted in the United States and India from December 3rd to 15th, 2014. During Chairman Lee’s peace tour that touched cities throughout the US, the American Peace Conference was held with about 2,000 attendees and meetings held with the Mayors of Carson City and the City of Artesia in Los Angeles.

At the Peace Conference, the participants of the World Alliance of Religions' Peace (WARP) Summit held prior praised Chairman Lee for holding a peace event that even governments and the United Nations had been unable to achieve, and they conveyed their vivid impressions of the WARP Summit at the conference.

Carson City Mayor designated and officially announced May 25th, the date of HWPL's proclamation of the Declaration of World Peace in Seoul, Korea, as “HWPL Day” in Carson City. Mayor of the City of Artesia promised to designate September 18, the date of the WARP Summit, as 'HWPL Day' throughout Artesia at a separate meeting with Chairman Lee.

In the United States, Los Angeles, California is known as a city which has cooperated in its entirety with Chairman Lee's peace movement. On May 22, 2014, Chairman Lee awakened the consciences of peace of 1,000 people during his first peace conference held in Carson city, Los Angeles County.

On December 6, 2014, Chairman Lee held the second peace conference (Americas Peace Conference) at Carson Community Center in Los Angeles, and Carson City fully supported the event. The experience in Carson City was reminiscent of the WARP Summit held prior in Korea.

About 2,000 people attended the event, including not only those who attended the WARP Summit, but also political, economic, and social figures, religious leaders, representatives of women's and youth groups, and the media. As the highlight video of the WARP Summit was followed by the testimonies of those who had attended the summit, the audience came to realize the incredible achievements of that day.

Bhai Sahib Satpal Singh Khalsa, Ambassador of the Sikh Dharma organisation in the United States, conveyed his impressions as an attendee of the WARP Summit, saying, "I have never experienced an event that promotes peace on such a large scale and calls for the unity of all religions around the world." He testified that he was very moved by it.

He continued, "This is thanks to the contributions of Chairman Lee, who is the organizer of the WARP Summit. I will use any means I can to send a message to the United Nations or the Nobel organization that Chairman Lee is a true messenger of peace in this era."

In order to realize world peace and the cessation of war in the global village, which has never been achieved in human history, Chairman Lee had to make extraordinary resolutions and commitments every step of the way. He did the same at the Americas Peace Conference. Chairman Lee introduced himself as someone who is determined to achieve peace, and appealed to the attendees to work together for peace.

Chairman Lee said, “In order to accomplish the work of peace, I had to devote my whole life to the heavens. Not only that, but I am also determined to shed the last drop of my blood for this cause. Just saying 'peace' doesn't make world peace a reality; shouldn't we make a real effort for it?"

On that day, Chairman Lee appointed key figures, who promised to cooperate for world peace, as HWPL advisory council members and public relations ambassadors. In a commemorative photo, everyone held hands for peace and it was reported through ABC, one of the three major American commercial broadcasters, as well as various media outlets.

On December 6, at the Carson Community Center in Los Angeles, a meeting between Chairman Lee and influential figures from other countries was held. Patricio Torres, Special Advisor to the President of Chile, Fernando Meza, Chilean Legislative Director, and Cristina Reyes, a lawyer from Spain, all listened to Chairman Lee's message of peace.

On that day, Los Angeles Mayor Jim Deere met Chairman Lee at the Carson Community Center. After listening to Chairman Lee's peace movement, he said, "It is an honor for Carson City to be able to participate in this global peace movement." Mayor Jim Deere shook hands with Chairman Lee and said, “It's a really beautiful achievement. I believe that the peace movement that Chairman Lee is carrying out will change the minds of future presidents and judges. The Chairman’s words are the answer to peace,” he emphasized.

Carson City conferred honorary citizenship and a certificate of recognition on Chairman Lee, who is awakening the hearts and minds of the global family of peace for the protection of humanity. In addition, Carson City designated May 25, when the Declaration of World Peace was proclaimed, as 'HWPL Day'.

Following the meeting with the Mayor of Carson City, a meeting with the Mayor of City of Artesia followed. Mayor Miguel Canales came to Chairman Lee's accommodation.

Chairman Lee, who is acutely aware of the painful reality that 70% of global conflicts are caused by religion, emphasized the need for religions to unite for peace during a meeting with Mayor Canales.

Chairman Lee said, “There is no reason for wars to break out when scriptures become one. For this, a WARP (World Alliance of Religions' Peace) Office is needed.” HWPL currently operates 253 WARP Offices in 129 countries and conducts regular discussions on the comparison of scriptures. These discussions are attended by various religious leaders.

Mayor Canales did not hold back his support for Chairman Lee's peace movement. He said, "I've heard a lot about HWPL's activities," and promised, "I will contact landlords and building owners to find the best office and make it possible for them to operate." In addition, he presented Chairman Lee with a Certificate of Recognition conferred only to mayors and city council members, and made him an honorary citizen. Mayor Canales promised to enact the date of the WARP Summit (September 18) as an anniversary throughout Artesia, just as had been done by Carson City for May 25th.

The last event in the United States was held at University of California (UCI) in Irvine City, California. The Religious Leaders' Peace Conference was held there to unite religions and scriptures, and was attended by about 200 religious leaders from Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Sikhism, Mormonism, and Caodaism.

From the moment Chairman Lee arrived in Los Angeles (LA), representatives of the Cao Đài Temple in the United States, who had participated in almost all of the Chairman's schedules, welcomed Chairman Lee as a special guest at the 90th anniversary ceremony held at the Cao Đài California Temple, USA on December 7, 2014. Khan Van Pam, the international representative of Cao Đài, came to the entrance of the venue and personally greeted Chairman Lee. Cao Đài members formed a welcome line and greeted Chairman Lee.

In his commemorative speech, Chairman Lee said, “Wouldn’t it be good if we stopped making weapons that kill and instead make weapons of peace that save people?”

Across the eastern and western regions of the United States, Chairman Lee's message of peace gave birth to numerous families of peace and was constantly promoted through the media. Chairman Lee's trip to the Americas, which took on a new dimension, concluded with great success and has ushered in a new era with new expectations.

Peace!!

  1. This is truly beautiful work. I sincerely hope that the DPCW will be enacted as international law by the United Nations as soon as possible in 2023. Kudos to Chairman Lee of HWPL and all HWPL supporters. In the words of Viktor Yushchenko, former President of Ukraine, “The DPCW is a perfect and balanced document that can be the basis of solidarity for peacekeeping in all countries of the world. I think all the leaders of the countries should support the DPCW."
