On November 19, 2014, Chairman Lee met with French religious leaders at the Athenee Palace Hilton Hotel in Romania. They had traveled all the way from France to Romania to meet Chairman Lee. Among them was French Rabbi Eric Gozlan, a teacher of Judaism, who had met Chairman Lee for the first time at a UNESCO conference during the 12th peace tour. Since attending the World Peace Summit, he has been participating in Chairman Lee's peace movement with greater zeal.

The religious leader he accompanied was Imam Rachid Birbach, a member of a French Islamic Association, who is an active Islamic representative in France, Belgium, Spain, and the Netherlands. He is also the representative of a peace organisation and has written related books on the prevention of war and achievement of peace. The fact that the rabbis and imams of Judaism and Islam had come together to meet Chairman Lee signaled a good start for the unity of religions.

Chairman Lee said, “Many people have worked for peace. However, the reason why things didn't go according to people's will is because of a hindrance." "I believe that God's time has now come. If you have the heart to do God's work, heaven will help you", he said.

These religious leaders presented ideas that could spur Chairman Lee's peace movement forward. Rabbi Eric Gozlan said, “I think it would be best for Chairman Lee to establish a branch in France. It's a great place to expand into the world."

In addition, he said, “We know that 80% of wars in the world are caused by religion, so we want to show people that peace can be realized through the resolution of religious conflicts. We will invite religious leaders to meet and discuss peace and which religious scripture is the best.”

Hassen Chalghoumi, an Imam, said, “The first thing is to engage in dialogue.” He continued, “Secondly, various religions should come together for a round table to discuss what is good and benefits the future of mankind. Thirdly, we should educate children and young people. Finally, media and TV channels must inform on all this.”

Imam Rachid Birbach, an ambassador for peace, said, “Imam Hassen introduced HWPL to the Prime Minister of France when he met him. I also want Chairman Lee to meet the Prime Minister of France, if he visits France again."

He said, “To me, Chairman Lee is the greatest teacher. I want to follow him and I'm already following him, and that's why I am where he is now. I was happy to hold his hand and I always want to be by his side."

Following on from the meeting with religious leaders, Chairman Lee attended a pre-event dinner to an international conference held in Villarak, Romania, to mark the 25th anniversary of the collapse of communism in Eastern Europe starting the next day. This international conference was a historic event where 25 presidents and prime ministers who contributed to the democratization of Eastern Europe held summit meetings.

Following that, Chairman Lee attended an international conference commemorating the '25th Anniversary of the Fall of Communism' and the inauguration of the newly elected president of Romania held at the Palace of Parliament in Romania on November 20-21, attended by 25 former presidents from Central and Eastern Europe, religious leaders from 7 countries, and Supreme Court judges. Chairman Lee met with leading figures and held discussions on the ‘cessation of war and world peace’.

This drew active support for HWPL's activities, and resulted in 25 former presidents, including former president of Romania Emil Constantinescu and the former president of Poland Lech Wałęsa, being appointed as HWPL Peace Advisory Council members.

In addition, Emil Constantinescu, who had invited Chairman Lee to Romania, created an opportunity for religious leaders and young people born in 1989 to come and listen to Chairman Lee's message at the Senate Hall of the Palace of the Parliament of Romania on November 20th. On that day, simultaneous discussions by topic were held in the 22 rooms of the Palace of the Parliament, and Chairman Lee took a seat at a session with religious leaders and youth group members.

On November 21, 2014, at an international conference commemorating the 25th anniversary of the collapse of communism in Eastern Europe held at the Palace of Parliament in Romania, Chairman Man-hee Lee presented the necessity for a peace policy for the reunification of the Korean Peninsula

Chairman Lee said, “I have always called heaven and earth as witnesses to our work. Up until now, nothing I have said has not come true. If there is someone who is chosen by Heaven or sent by Heaven for the sake of this world, that person should give everything he or she has for the benefit of saving humanity.”

He went on to say, “The kind of person that this world really needs is someone who will cleanse man's chaotic thoughts.”

Then Chairman Lee held a meeting with Romanian Supreme Court Justice Petre Lăzăroiu at the Constitutional Court of the Palace of the Parliament of Romania. Justice Petre Lăzăroiu is one of nine members of the judiciary who holds the power to ratify the president.

This is not the first time he had met Chairman Lee. They had previously met at a symposium of chief justices in Montenegro. Their second meeting was held again in Romania to come up with specific measures regarding the enactment of international law proposed by Chairman Lee.

Chairman Lee said, “At the WARP Summit held in Korea, former and current presidents and justices made a promise to enact international law (to end wars) before God, all people, and the messenger of peace. A judge who knows about the law should be the first to support this law. God allowed me to meet the judges for the sake of humanity.”

Regarding this, Supreme Court Justice Petri Najiroil said, “I am thinking in my mind how to make the contents that Chairman Lee is speaking about realistic.” And on the following day, November 21, Chairman Lee was invited to the ratification ceremony of the 5th President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis.
At a press conference on November 22, Chairman Lee said, "I delivered my message that the international law for the cessation of war and world peace should be enacted in front of the political and religious leaders of Central and Eastern Europe, and that religions, which are at the centre of conflicts, should unite. The 25 former presidents in attendance joined the world peace movement and readily agreed to become HWPL advisory committee members.”

In addition, Chairman Lee said, “Romanian Supreme Court Justice Petre Lăzăroiu, who participated in the event, was moved to tears when he saw the video of our progress, and he has promised to help with the enactment of this international law. We will review this international law and present it to the UN.”

Peace!

  1. This is truly beautiful work. I sincerely hope that the DPCW will be enacted as international law by the United Nations as soon as possible in 2023. Kudos to Chairman Lee of HWPL and all HWPL supporters. In the words of Viktor Yushchenko, former President of Ukraine, “The DPCW is a perfect and balanced document that can be the basis of solidarity for peacekeeping in all countries of the world. I think all the leaders of the countries should support the DPCW."
