Cambodia includes peace as a subject in its school curriculum / the independent / 19.2.2019 / Singapore / http://theindependent.sg/cambodia-includes-peace-as-a-subject-in-its-school-curriculum/

HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light. Chairperson: Man Hee Lee) and the Cambodian Ministry of Education signed an M.O.U. to provide HWPL's peace curriculum to elementary, middle, high school and university students in Cambodia.

The Independent (Singapore branch) reported that HWPL and the Ministry of Education had their official opening at the Royal University of Phnom Penh on February 21st with over a thousand participants including the Minister of Education of Cambodia and other prominent officials in the Cambodian government and in the field of education.

One student who received HWPL's pilot peace education program said :

"I never knew the world was this ugly, even when it is seemingly peaceful. After this lesson, I will be one who is more aware about conflict and war."

The Cambodian Ministry of Education and HWPL look forward to progressing peace education in Cambodia, and to enhancing the cooperative Cambodia-Korean alliance for world peace.

The report also introduced HWPL's peace-building work for world peace and benefits of the enactment of the DPCW (Declaration of Peace, Cessation of War) for world peace.
