[HWPL] The Light of Peace Shines in South-East Asia! 2019 South-East Asia Peace Forum: Cooperation and Leap for Realization Peace

Thursday, the 21st of February. VIPs and citizens from Cambodia and neighbouring countries eager to achieve world peace joined the 2019 South-East Asia Forum entitled 'Cooperation and Leap for Realization of Peace'. The event was hosted by HWPL, which is a global peace NGO under the U.N.

HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light. The chairman: Mr. Man Hee Lee) has been working for world peace since its foundation in 2013. It has two sub-groups, which are IWPG (International Women's Peace Group) and IPYG (International Peace Youth Group) which work with many people and NGOs around the world.

Mr. Man Hee Lee, an 89-year-old Korean War veteran who had experienced the severity and cruelty of war, founded HWPL and its sub-organisations for the purpose of making world peace. HWPL and its chairman, Man Hee Lee, have been successfully carrying out their global ‘Legislate Peace’ campaign for the enactment of the new international law DPCW (Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War), which is the only answer for world peace. HWPL and Mr. Man Hee Lee completed their (27th, 28th and 29th) World Peace Tour 3 times last year with fantastic results.

Politicians, diplomats, leading academics, professors, legal experts, leaders of NGOs and religious leaders all participated in the event to meet and listen to the peace group and its peace advocates. The leaders of HWPL, IWPG and IPYG - including Chairman Man Hee Lee - passionately urged participants through their speeches to raise awareness for world peace and war.

I'd like to share some quotes from a speech made by Mr. Man Hee Lee at the event that touched and inspired all participants.

"To live peacefully on this earth, everyone at this present time has to work together. Peace is not something just handed to you and you should not wait for it. You have to go after it yourself."

"Even though there is an answer to ending global conflicts, if you are not interested in it, then do you think you can call yourself a politician? What are you waiting for? Are you waiting for war to happen? It is nonsense that you do nothing even though there is an answer for peace. All leaders have to work it out if they really love their country and people. They must act now."

"We have to do politics for life, not for death."

To help participants work jointly for world peace, IPYG introduced its global 'Peace Letter' campaign. I'm sure that soon participants will  be writing letters to world leaders urging the recipient to support the DPCW for immediate enactment in the U.N.

Today I bring you a short article from Cambodia for you. Cambodia is a country near Thailand, Laos and Vietnam in South-Eastern Asia, very famous for Angkor Wat :)

However, Cambodia also has a very tragic and cruel history with its 'Killing Fields' during the Communist Revolution by Democratic Campuchia that killed countless Cambodians in the 1970s.

I think that is why Cambodia supports HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of the Light. Chairman: Mr. Man Hee Lee) and Mr. Man Hee Lee, who has drafted the DPCW (Declaration of Peace, Cessation of War) as the only answer for world peace.

Such tragic history in the memory of Cambodians must have driven them to pursue world peace and a peaceful culture. KhmerRead reported that HWPL's peace messengers and Mr. Man Hee Lee will visit Cambodia this February to meet the country's head monk, educational experts and other dignitaries.

HWPL announced that Mr. Man Hee Lee and its peace messengers will deliver the message of peace to Cambodians through national broadcasting stations. 

Cambodia is one of the countries which has signed an M.O.U. to receive HWPL's peace education, meaning the country thoroughly understands the significance of peace culture and education for their youth.

HWPL hopes to raise awareness of world peace in Cambodia so that they can also participate in the 'Legislate Peace Campaign' to help enact the DPCW at the UN in the near future.




Writer's comment : I think that Cambodians understand the importance of peace education and peace culture because of their painful history, like Koreans do. I hope HWPL and Mr. Man Hee Lee achieve a wonderful result for world peace :)
